Hey Oli you,
Welcome to the inaugural Oli-letter, your monthly dose of inspiration to brighten up your daily life.
Why 'Oli-letter'? Well, 'Oli' is short for Olitas, which means 'little waves' in Spanish - a beautiful metaphor for life's rhythmic journey.
Enjoy the read and share your thoughts with me. Let's ride these little waves together!

Riding Life's Waves 🌊
Life is a constant movement, like waves in the ocean. Sometimes, it feels like being stuck in a washing machine; other times, it's like catching a happy boost, just like a surfer riding a wave.
I'm learning that either moment is temporary, and it's about embracing life's ups and downs.
Accept the unknown, feel the sadness to find happiness, and ride through the unpredictable twists with a sense of beauty. It's all about having the spirit of movement, treating life as a journey, and staying curious.
Embrace the discomfort of not knowing everything, make changes when needed, and wander without the pressure of following others. In a world full of noise - ads, social media, social pressure - create your own way to navigate life, appreciate the simple things, and find joy in your own little waves.
Ah, and don't forget, each of us has unique qualities, treasures, and mysteries. Be kind to yourself, take risks of doing things differently and believe in your journey of discovery.
💌,
Léa
4 QUESTIONS TO TEDDY ☀️
I met Teddy during a workshop near Barcelona. An Instagram post led me to a 3-hour fusion of hip-hop dance and theater experience. Immersed in Teddy's universe, we became actors in his art, feeling more connected and oddly familiar with the people who shared the moment.
Here are a few words from our chat.
How did you get started?
Teddy: In 2019, I had a breakthrough with a Cuban friend, listening to DJ NTO's song 'Sand Dealer' - it gave me an incredible feeling. I decided to make dance my life, not just a weekend passion. I cried because I had such a strong feeling, and before that, I never felt the legitimacy to consider it a profession. Movimiento Genuino was born three years ago, combining contemporary, hip-hop, acrobatics, and theater.
My goal is to teach from scratch and move towards philosophy through movement.
What are your challenges?
Self-confidence, entering the system, maintaining the informal vibe from Mexico, discipline as an independent artist, and choosing the right path.
What are you proud of?
Movimiento Genuino's evolution, transmitting strength in self-care and pleasure. I aim to enable everyone to save themselves with all available resources and continue evolving.
How do you connect today?
Travel, dance, meeting artists, all forms of expression, life moments, learning new things, and being close to someone or something corporeal.
BITS AND BOBS TO GET INSPIRED THIS MONTH 🌈
Word of the month - Serendipity; finding a delightful and meaningful surprise without intentionally seeking it, leading to positive and unexpected outcomes. It's the ability to find interesting things or unexpected solutions while engaged in an activity different from what led to the discovery. Serendipity is often associated with luck and creative intelligence.
Instagram to follow - Get a dose of relaxation by immersing yourself in the waves of Australia with @Aquabumps, and say hi to the locals through @Grahamcordery.
Book to have - Feeling deeply is totally okay. Check out Carissa Potter Carlson’s book, "It's Ok to Feel Things Deeply" here or on Instagram @peopleiveloved.
Article to read - When was the last time you danced just for the sheer joy of it? Loved reading Melissa Kirsch's take in the NYT on reclaiming movement and dancing like no one’s watching. Here!
Music to listen to - The peaceful musical waves of FKJ at Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia.
OLI-QUESTION 💬
Every month, I will ask you a question to invite you to reflect.
What aspect of your life do you think about when you read the definition of serendipity? A moment, an action, or an unexpected discovery that led your life to take a beautiful turn completely different from what you had planned?
Share it with us in comments.
See you next month 👋👋
Génial de découvrir l’art de Teddy! À quand une interview entre vous deux ?
